A celebration of life for Elizabeth Zinn, 85, of Wellman, formerly of Kalona, will be held Monday, May 2, 2016 at 10:30 a.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Pastor Scott Swartzendruber officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 1 from 3-5 p.m. at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona Mennonite Church, Parkview Manor and the American Diabetes Association. Elizabeth Zinn died peacefully in her sleep at Parkview Manor in Wellman on Monday, April 25, 2016.
Elizabeth (Willer) Zinn was born on May 7, 1930 in Orloff, Russia, the daughter of Jacob and Kathrina (Rumpel) Willer. She was united in marriage to Woldemar Zinn at the Eicher Mennonite Church in Wayland on October 8, 1950. The couple lived in the Wayland area until moving to Kalona in 1957. Elizabeth was a member of the Kalona Mennonite Church and enjoyed crocheting, needlework, gardening and traveling.
Survivors include two daughters: Elsa (Anthony) Trotto of Rochester, NY, Judy (Gregory) Nagel of Wellman, Iowa, daughter in law, Brenda Zinn Vanderploeg of South Hampton, Ontario, seven grandchildren: Anthony ( Caroline) Trotto, Christopher (Julia) Trotto, Michelle (John) Gibbs, Lori (Ted) Borowiak, Gregg (Meg) Nagel, Michael Zinn and Valerie Zinn, 14 great grandchildren, and one brother, Joe (Barb) Willer of Portsmouth, NH.
Preceding Elizabeth in death were her parents, her husband Woldemar, one son Jacob Zinn, grandson Charles Nagel, two sisters: Maria Brubacher and Anna Dumke and one brother, Jacob Willer.
