Edwin A. Arbogast, 70, died Wednesday, April 7, 2021, at Parkview Home in Wayland. A graveside service will be held Saturday, April 10, 2021, at 10:30 AM at Schrock Cemetery in rural Washington, with Pastor Nancy Sutherland officiating. Masks are required and social distancing guidelines will be in place. The service will be available via Livestream on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook Page. Visitation will be held Friday, April 9, from 2 – 7 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Wayland. The family will not be present. A memorial fund has been established for Cottonwood Church, Compassus of Washington, and the American Cancer Society.
Edwin Arthur Arbogast, son of John and Ada (Turner) Arbogast was born April 8, 1950. He graduated from WACO High School in 1969. Ed went to Trade School in Omaha, NE. He was employed at Schulz Ford-Mercury in Washington, Blue Bird Midwest in Mt. Pleasant, and Washington County Jail. Ed was a faithful member of Cottonwood Church, Wayland, where he was treasurer, youth leader, song leader, Sunday school teacher, and served on several other church committees. Ed loved his family and friends. He loved to sing, golf, bowl, feed the birds, enjoyed animals, flowers, and work word puzzles.
Survivors include his sisters: Elizabeth Troutman, Wayland, Mildred (Bill) Wilson, Ainsworth, Dorothy Jacob, Wellman, sister-in-law, Fonda Arbogast, Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Charles (Ruth) Arbogast, Washington, Johnie Arbogast, Washington, Dean Arbogast, Wayland, Stanley (Shelly) Arbogast, Washington, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ed in death were his parents, brothers: Howard and Richard Arbogast and a sister in infancy.
The family would like to thank: University Hospital and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa City Rehab and Health Care Center, Parkview Home Wayland and Compassus of Washington for his care.
