Edith Lorene Hileman, 96, of Wayland, died Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 23, 2005 at the Wayland Mennonite Church with Pastor Gerry Klopfenstein and Pastor Pam Unruh officiating. Burial will be in the North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Tuesday at the Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland with family present from 6-8:00 in the evening. Memorials in the name of Edith Hileman may be designated to the North Hill Cemetery or the Wayland Mennonite Church
Edith was born March 15, 1909 in Wayland, Iowa the daughter of William and Susan (Nafzinger) Kauffman. She graduated from Wayland High School in 1928 and received Nurses training. On June 27, 1931 she was united in marriage to J. Everett Hileman at the Wayland Mennonite Parsonage.
She was a member of the Wayland Mennonite Church, Eastern Star, T.T.T. and the Progress Club. Edith was a Baker, worked many years at the McCleery Cumming Factory and was also a homemaker.
She spent many hours on quilting and enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include children J. William Hileman of Palm Springs, CA, Patty Sue Rullman and husband Roger of Aurora, IN and Mike Hileman and wife Niki of Mt. Pleasant; sister Mildred Meyer of Wayland; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Everett October 22, 1972, three brothers Ralph, Max and Harold, two sisters Leola Alliman and Marie Berkshire.
