Edith Christner

A celebration of life for Edith Christner, 86 of Kalona will be held Friday, August 31, 2012 at 9:30AM at the Sharon Bethel Church in rural Kalona with Pastors Delmar Bontrager, Jacob Yoder, Gabriel Beachy and Lamar Ropp officiating.  Burial will follow at the Eash Cemetery north of Sharon Center.  Visitation will be held Thursday, August 30 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at the Sharon Bethel Church. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasantview Home.

Edith Christner died Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona following a lingering illness.

Fannie Edith Christner was born November 17, 1925 in Johnson County, Iowa the daughter of Rueben and Mary Elizabeth (Christner) Mast.  Her parents died when she was a young girl and she was raised by Annan and Rachael Christner.  Edith worked at the Kalonial Townhouse for many years, and also in the kitchen at the Pleasantview Home.  She was a member of the Sharon Bethel Church and had been a resident at the Pleasantview Home for 35 years.

Survivors include a number of cousins.

Preceding Edith in death were her biological parents, Rueben and Mary Elizabeth Mast, and her parents, Annan and Rachael Christner.
