Funeral services for Earl R. Wagamon, 84 of Kalona will be held Friday, August 13, 2010 at 10:00AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona with Pastor David L. Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at the Sharon Hill Cemetery in Kalona. Visitation will be held Thursday, August 12 from 4-8PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home. Earl died Monday, August 9, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital following a brief illness.

Earl R. Wagamon was born August 27, 1925 in Kinross, Iowa the son of Harry and Mildred T. (Long) Wagamon. He served in the US Coast Guard from 1943 a�" 1946. On October 19, 1949 he was united in marriage to Dolorosa Bohr in Richmond, IA. Earl worked as a mechanic for many years at Farmers Supply & Sales Inc, drove truck in later years and owned and operated a bike repair and sales shop at his home. He was a member of the Richmond AMVET Post #107 and the Kalona Downtown Athletic Club. He enjoyed fixing bikes, bowling and building and repairing racecars.

Survivors include five children and spouses, Sandy (Joe) Joynt of Coralville, Randy (Deb) Wagamon of Kalona, Gary (LuAnn) Wagamon of Wellman, Cindy (Ervin) Swantz of Excello, MO, Tim (Yolonda) Wagamon of Solon, a daughter-in-law, Wendy Northcutt of Cedar Rapids, 13 grandchildren, Ben, Andy and Emily Joynt, Sara and Sean Wagamon, Mike Wagamon, Lindsey Wagamon, Melissa Hallowell, Nicholas Swantz, Jennifer Anderson, Matt, Jason and Brian Wagamon, 4 great grandchildren, Cole Wagamon, Izaac Anderson, Trace Hallowell and Carter Hamilton, two sisters, Dorothy Young of Cedar Rapids, Ruth Hamdorf of Cedar Rapids and a sister-in-law, Mary Wagamon of Washington.

Preceding Earl in death were his parents, his wife, Dolorosa in 2005, one son, Terry Wagamon in 1983, one grandson, Chris Wagamon in 2005, one brother, Lynn Wagamon, and one sister, Gayle Ewing.
