DuWayne R. "Sonny" "The Catfish Man" Pratt, 80, of Washington, died Thursday November 24, 2016 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City following a month long illness. A memorial service will be held at a later date. A general memorial fund has been established.
DuWayne Robert Pratt was born December 7, 1935 in Redwood Falls, MN., the son of Tiny and Irene (Fish) Pratt. On June 16, 1965 he married Rosemary Hole. He worked in many jobs and moved to Iowa from Minnesota in 1998. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, playing cards, watching NASCAR and dog shows and visiting with neighbors and friends. Sonny would do anything to help someone in need.
Survivors include his son Doug and wife Poe Pratt of Kalona, three grandchildren: Ryan Wolcott of Cedar Rapids, Stacy and wife Erin Wolcott of Tiffin, William Buetow of Minnesota, a sister Ruth and husband John Vest of Keota and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents, his wife Rosemary, one son Jimmy Pratt, one daughter Roberta Buetow, three sisters: Phylis Pratt, Janice Gullickson and Delores Scheer, and one brother Billy Pratt.
