Doris Roth

A celebration of life for Doris L. Roth, 89, of Mt. Pleasant will be held Friday, July 29, 2011 at 2:30PM at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Herb Yoder officiating. Burial will follow at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Cemetery in rural Wayland. A funeral luncheon will be held prior to the service at noon at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. Visitation will be held Thursday, July 28 from 4-8PM at the Pleasant View Mennonite Church where the family will greet friends from 6-8PM. A memorial fund has been established for the Pleasant view Mennonite Church. Doris Roth died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Park Place Care Facility in Mt. Pleasant.

Doris Louise Eicher was born March 30, 1922 in Milford, NE, the daughter of Leander and Elizabeth (Yeackley) Eicher. She was united in marriage to John H. Roth in May of 1940 in Kahoka, MO. Doris was a member of the Pleasant View Mennonite Church. She enjoyed family activities; especially caring for her grandchildren, making friends, baking, quilting, gardening, hosting families during Old Thresher’s and playing Skip-Bo and Bingo.

Survivors include two sons and spouses, Paul and wife Kay Roth of Washington, IA, Marlin and wife Linda Roth of Mt. Pleasant, IA, one daughter in law, Elaine Roth of Elkhorn, NE, nine grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.

Preceding Doris in death were her parents, husband John, one son, Orie L. Roth, one daughter, Jane E. Tecca, one grandson, Mike Roth, five sisters and one brother.
