Diann K. Miller, 69, of Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, March 7, 2019 at the University of Iowa Hospital. Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 12, from 4 – 7 PM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with a funeral at 7PM. Visitation with a lunch will be held Thursday, March 14 from noon – 2PM at the Burt Presbyterian Church in Burt, Iowa. Graveside service will be held on Thursday at 2:30PM at the Burt Cemetery and a memorial service will be at 3:00PM at the Burt Presbyterian Church. A memorial fund has been established for TTT Chapter J of Wayland.
Diann Kae Miller was born June 23, 1949 in Burt, Iowa, the daughter of John Monroe and Betty Jean (Batt) Miller. She graduated from Burt High School in 1967, attained an AA in Education from Iowa Lakes Community College in 1969, graduated from Mankato State College in 1971 with a BS in Education and a Master’s in Education in 1976. Diann taught for 30 years at WACO until her retirement. Since 1985 was a member of the TTT Chapter J where she held many offices, including state president. Diann was gifted at counter cross stitch and loved to share that gifts with others. She also enjoyed traveling, spending time with family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Diann also loved to help send girls to Camp Wyoming through TTT and chaperoning girls’ basketball trips at WACO.
Survivors include two sisters: Donna (Elmer) Alt of Algona, Darlene (Pat) Prothman of Algona and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law Deb Miller of Algona
Preceding Diann in death were her parents and one brother Dennis Miller.
