Diane "Big Red" Victoria Moore

Ainsworth, Iowa

Diane “Big Red” Victoria Moore, 83 of Ainsworth, died Wednesday, August 21, 2024, at her son’s home near Ainsworth.

 

She has been cremated and a celebration will be 11:00 AM-3:00 PM, Sunday, September 15, 2024, at the Moose Lodge, 3151 US 6 SE Iowa City, Iowa. Dress in Hawkeye apparel and Diane says NO CRYING> The Beatty- Peterseim Funeral Home is assisting her family with arrangements.

 

Diane was born May 18, 1941, in Alberta, Canada, the daughter of Bernard and Grace (Waite) Jensen. She graduated from High School and was united in marriage to Jim Moore in Iowa City, Iowa.

 

She was an administrative assistant at the University of Iowa Athletic Department for over 30 years and retired there. She was an avid Hawkeye Fan and took great pride in attending many of the Iowa Hawkeye sporting events.

 

Survivors include her son Billy Warne of Ainsworth, daughters Katie Warne of North English, Michelle (Mike) Webster of North Liberty, IA and Leslie Ainley of Lafayette, IN; grandchildren Lindsey Wombacher, Ashley Warne, Nick Wombacher, Kaylee,  Mitchell Webster, and  Zoie Warne; one great-granddaughter Miyah Mallard. Like a son, Brian Sekaftz, and his children Jorden and Tyler. 

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jim and brother Kerry.
