Diana Johnson's body has been cremated.
Diana Lucille Johnson died peacefully on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at the University of Iowa Hospitals following an extended illness. Diana was born July 24, 1945, the daughter of Denzil and Maxine Coy. She grew up in Rawlings, WY. She married her soulmate, William Schoen Johnson, in 1971, and they raised her two sons in Wyoming.
Diana worked in the medical field for twenty years before pursuing a career as a financial planner. She moved to Iowa and joined Hawkeye Brokerage Center in 1996. In 1998, Diana became a Registered Financial Consultant (RFC) as recognized by the International Assn. of Registered Financial Consultants. She also became a Registered Investment Advisor Affiliate in 2000. Diana also taught adult education classes on Retirement Planning, Charitable Giving, & Asset Allocation. Diana helped many clients in her 15 years at Hawkeye Brokerage Center.
Diana is survived by her two sons, Ken (Etta) Johnson of Middletown, DE and Kevin Johnson of Casper, WY; four grandchildren, Cari, Jordan, Hannah and Alix; her brother, Denny Coy of Seguen, TX; many extended relatives, a multitude of friends, and her beloved cat, Kermit. She was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Schoen; as well as her parents, Denzil and Maxine Coy; and her Schnauzer, Schnaaps.
Diana will be remembered for her strong intuition, zest for life, wonderful advice and unconditional love. She was a survivor whose strength led her through many adversities. She was a kind and gentle spirit who made the world a better place.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor, on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at 1:00 at Hawkeye Brokerage Center in Iowa City. In lieu of flowers and in her honor, donations may be sent to the Johnson County Humane Society, PO Box 2775, Iowa City, IA 52244.
