Dayton Charles Crim, 86 of Washington, died Sunday, December 10, 2006 at the Washington Care Center.
Funeral Services have been set for 1:00 PM Friday, December 15, 2006 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Linda Foor officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Garden Cemetery in Iowa City with Military Honors. Visitation will begin at 2:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Dayton Crim has been established for the Washington Minibus or the Veterans Affairs.
Dayton was born August 26, 1920 in River Junction, IA the son of Hilton C. and Dorothy L. (Crossely) Crim. He served with the US Army during WWII in Europe. He was united in marriage to Leota M. Davisson December 29, 1949 in Iowa City.
He was a member of the Washington Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) and the American Legion. He farmed and hauled lime around Lone Tree before moving to Washington. He worked for Washington County for twenty-six years, retiring in 1982.
Survivors include his wife Leota of Washington, sons Wayne Crim of West Burlington and Marvin Crim of Iowa City and one grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Lyle and Dale.
