David Taylor

David C Taylor died on Sunday, April 5, 2020 at Washington County Hospital in Washington, Iowa at the age of 72. Services are pending at this time.

Dave was born on August 1, 1947 in Des Moines, IA to Louis (Don) and Joyce Rice Taylor He graduated from Washington High School in 1965. After high school, Dave joined the U.S. Air Force, proudly serving his country. Following his time in the Air Force, he returned to Washington, going to work for McCleery Cummings Co until 2004. In his spare time, Dave enjoyed golfing, camping, and woodworking in his shop. His children and grandchildren remember him as a kind, gentle, patient and driven person who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Dave is survived by his wife, Betty Hamil of Washington. Children; Gary Taylor of Wichita, KS, Theresa Jones of Agency, IA, Shelly Ellis of Cedar Rapids, IA, Chad (Angi) Ellis of Washington, IA, Christina (Jared) Waters of Ainsworth, IA, Derek (Natalie) Hamil of Cedar Falls, IA. Grandchildren; Jordyn and Brandon Taylor, Kerringtyn and Max Jones, Taylor Dawson, Ryan and Lucas Ellis, Bryce, Jenna and Katelyn Waters, James Hamil. Great Grandchild; Koah Butzlaff.

He is preceded in death by his parents Don and Joyce Taylor and his only brother, Dennis Taylor.
