Darrell Bandy, 83 of Washington, died Saturday, July 18, 2020.
A drive by visitation will be 4-6:00PM Monday, July 20, 2020 at the Beatty Funeral Home carport in Washington. His body will be cremated and private family burial will be at the Keota Cemetery at a later date. A memorial in the name of Darrell Bandy has been established to Wounded Warriors.
Darrell was born November 1, 1936 in Keota, Iowa the son of Edgar Ray and Mabel Lucille (Blick) Bandy. He graduated from Keota High School and served in the US Air Force from 1955 till 1958. On July 11, 1959 he was united in marriage to Martha G. Smith in Keota.
He was employed at McCleery Cumming for 26 years, enjoyed collecting antiques, attending flea markets and was an avid Dodge/Chrysler fan. Darrell was a member of American Legion and VFW.
Survivors include children, Stacy Bandy and wife Kristen of Oskaloosa, IA, Wendy Langan and husband Mike of Washington, Jody Bandy and wife Amie of Oxford, IA and Angela Anthony and husband Mark of Pella, IA; seven grandchildren, Abby Rezansoff, Alexandria Morgan, MacKenzie Trullinger, Terryl Bandy, Cale Anthony, Tanner Bandy and Payton Bandy; seven great grandchildren, Keegan, Landon, Silis, Penelope, Ava, Delta and Riley.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife Martha June 1, 2013, sisters Darlene Shaffer and Mary Ellen Detweiler.
