A graveside service for Daniel W. Miller, 85, of Sarasota, Florida, formerly of Kalona, will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021, at 11:00 AM at the North Gingerich Cemetery north of Kalona. The family will greet friends Monday, April 26, from 1 – 5 and 6 - 8 PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. Daniel W. Miller died Saturday, April 17, 2021, at the Tidewell Hospice House in Sarasota from an unknown skin disease.
Daniel W. Miller was born July 5, 1935, in Kalona, Iowa, the son of William Edward and Ada (Beachey) Miller in Johnson County, Iowa. He was adopted by Joseph and Barbara J. (Miller) Miller. In his youth he was baptized and accepted Christ as his savior, and kept his belief to his end. On September 16, 1954, he was united in marriage to Esther D. Miller. To this union four children were born: Fannie Ellen (Henry) Schlabach, John David, Merle, and Norman Miller. Esther died in 1979 and Daniel was married to Barbara S. Hochstedler on June 25, 1981.
Survivors include his wife Barbara of Kalona, three children: Fannie Ellen (Henry) Schlabach, Merle Miller, Norman Miller, 11 grandchildren, a brother Fred Miller and one sister Ellen Morehouse.
Preceding Daniel in death were his parents, his biological parents, his wife Esther, son John David Miller, two grandchildren, and his adopted sister.
