Dale D. Bower, 93 of Oskaloosa, Iowa formally of Washington died, Sunday, October 17, 2010 at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 AM Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor James Cluney officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the funeral home with family receiving friends from 6-7:30 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Dale D. Bower has been established to the Assembly of God Church.
Dale was born June 9, 1917 in Wellston, Iowa the son of Floyd Virgil and Anna Mabel (Landers) Bower. He graduated from Washington High School in 1935 and was united in marriage to Mary M Misel on June 5, 1941 at the Four Square Church in Washington. Following there marriage he served in the US Army during WW II in the Military Police Escort Guard.
He was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Washington and Oskaloosa. Dale was employed as a pressman for the Washington Journey for thirty four years and also was employed at Reeve Printing in Des Moines.
Survivors include his wife Mary of Oskaloosa; sons Duane (Melanie) Bower of Des Moines, Robert (Sharon) Bower of Oskaloosa and Terry (Mary) Bower of Dover, Delaware; foster-daughter Lori Mathis of Dallas, TX; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant brother Paul and infant sister Elmina.
