She was the daughter of Mahlon and Barbara Hershberger Swartzendruber. Cordell attended Horse Shoe Bend rural school. She and Rolland M. Yoder were married December 11, 1938 at the Lower Deer Creek Mennonite Church. She was a longtime member of the Lower Deer Creek Church. Cordell had many interests. Her family was always first in her life. Quilting, gardening, baking and volunteering at Pleasantview Home and the Crowded Closet kept her busy and happy. Cordell is survived by three sons and their wives; Donald G and Ila Yoder of Kalona, Doug and Margaret Yoder of Iowa City and Linford and Charlotte Yoder of Oskaloosa. Also surviving are 13 grandchildren, Deb Yoder, Beth Andrade, Stephany Tindall, Cristina Richards, Sara Yoder,Chris Yoder, Randy Yoder, Scott Yoder, Brandon Yoder, Benjamin Yoder, Mitchell Yoder, Max Caballero,and Gave Caballero, 18 great grandchildren and one sister, Genevieve Yoder of Kalona. Preceding Cordell in death were her parents, her husband Rolland Yoder (12/27/2004) a son Ronald Yoder(1981) and four brothers, Ora, Clarence, Ernest, Emerson and one sister, Mable Zook. A memorial in her honor has been established for the Pleasantview Home Alzheimer's Wing. Cordell's family appreciates the prayer, love and many other expressions of sympathy extended to them during this time of their loss and during Cordell's illness. May God Bless each of you.
