Clayton Joseph Nebel, 89 of Noble, died Wednesday, May 25, 2005 at the Parkview Home in Wayland.
Funeral Services will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 28, 2005 at the Sugar Creek e with Pastor Nathan Luitjens and Pastor Robert Hartzler officiating. Burial will be in the Sugar Creek Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Sugar Creek Mennonite Church with family receiving friends from 6:30 till 8:00 in the evening. Beatty Funeral Home of Wayland is assisting with the arrangements. A memorial fund in the name of Clayton Nebel has been established to Parkview Home or Hospice of Washington County.
Clayton was born December 18, 1915 near Noble, the son of Samuel and Molly (Roth) Nebel. On March 12, 1944 he was united in marriage to Edith Rich at the Parsonage with Simon Gingerich officiating.
He was a faithful member of Sugar Creek Mennonite Church. He farmed in the Noble area all of his life and deeply loved his family.
Survivors include son Ledru Nebel of Noble, four daughters, Dorthy Truman and husband Duane of Davenport, IA, Betty Hocker and husband Frank of Davenport, IA, Joan Eubanks and husband Jim of Noble and Nadine Giudicessi and husband Gary of Las Vegas, NV; brother Gerald Nebel and wife Katherine of Wayland; sister, Inez Roth of Wayland; six grandchildren, Gregory Truman, Wendi Votroubek, Kevin Truman, Jeffrey Eubanks, Jason Eubanks, Janelle Eubanks; three great-grandchildren Emma, Nolan and Sarah.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Edith January 5, 2004 and sister Evelyn Roth.
