Clarence Robert “Bud” Wehr, 92, of Washington, died Saturday, July 25, 2020 at Halcyon House in Washington. Private family funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Saturday, August 1, 2020 at the Beatty Funeral Home with Fr. Bernie Wear officiating. A facebook live stream will be available on the funeral homes facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/BeattyPeterseim/ Visitation will be from 12:00-7:00 PM with the family present from 4:00-7:00 PM Friday, July 31, 2020 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Elm Grove cemetery with full military honors. A memorial fund has been established for Paws & More and the St. James Catholic Church. Social distancing and masks will be enforced.
Clarence Robert Wehr was born on October 19, 1927 in West Chester, IA, the son of Matthias and Elanor (Schumacher) Wehr. He attended Hard Scrabble Country School and graduated from West Chester High School and served in the US Army during and after WWII. On May 18, 1963 he was united in marriage to Marguerite Beason in Iowa City, IA. Bud worked as a farmer for many years and was employed at the Amana factory, The Diamond Inn, Hennigan International, Washington Lawn and Leisure, and along with his wife owned and operated C&M mowing for many years. He was faithful member of the Frontier Restaurant coffee club and the St. James Catholic Church. He enjoyed mowing, traveling, BBQ, family and sing alongs.
Bud is survived by his step-sons; Donnie Bond of Tipton, IA, and Dennis (Shari) Bond of Wayland, IA, brothers; Marion Wehr of Keota, IA, and Lester (Barbara) Wehr of Keota, IA, 10 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Bud was preceded in death by his parents, wife Marguerite, December 10, 2006, daughter Linda Wehr, brothers; Harold Wehr, Edward Wehr, Raymond Wehr, and Eugene Wehr, sisters; Marie Wehr, Deloris Wehr, Dorothy Wehr, Virginia Wehr, and Kathleen Wehr and grandson James Matthew Wehr.
