Chester Miller, 86, of Riverside, Iowa, died Monday, May 25, 2020 following an eight-month battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 9:30 AM at the Merlyn Miller residence, 1104 Palm Avenue, Riverside with Minister Clayton Borntrager officiating. Burial will follow at the South Gingerich Cemetery. Visitation will be held Monday, May 25 from 3 – 8 PM and Tuesday from 1 – 7 PM at 1104 Palm Avenue, Riverside. Guidelines for social distancing set forth by the state will be enforced at the visitation.
Chester H Miller was born December 18, 1933 in Kalona, Iowa, the son of Henry B. and Edna (Miller) Miller. He accepted Christ as his Savior in his youth and was baptized in the Old Order Amish Church. He was united in marriage to Mary Ropp on January 12, 1956.
Chester is survived by his wife Mary and three sons and six daughters: LullaBelle at home, Henry (Ila) Miller, Charles (Ellen) Miller of Kalona, Marilyn (Glen) Miller of Reed City, Michigan, Merlyn (Myrna) Miller of Riverside, Gladys (Loren) Borntrager, Wanda (John Dale) Gingerich of Kalona, Joyce (Solomon) Hershberger of Riverside, Shirley Miller of Kalona, 39 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law Edna Miller, three brothers: Norman H (Alma), Morris H and Vernon H (Nina), one sister Mary Pearl (Fred) Mast all of Kalona.
Preceding Chester in death were his parents, one brother Emery, two sisters-in-law: Mary Jane and Freda Miller and two great-grandchildren.
