A funeral mass for Charles "Charlie" G. Stumpf will be held Monday, October 18, 2010 at 10:30AM at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond, IA with Father Rich Adam officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in rural Richmond. Visitation will be held Sunday, October 17 from 3-7PM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona where a prayer service will be held at 7PM. Charlie Stumpf died Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Parkview Home in Wellman following a brief illness.
A memorial fund has been established for the Kalona 1 st Responder's.

Charles George Stumpf was born March 15, 1935 in rural Washington County the son of Paul and Luella (Lintz) Stumpf. He attended Holy Trinity Catholic School and was member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. On September 8, 1958 he was united in marriage to Rita Jean Donohoe at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Cosgrove, IA. He served in the United States Army for 2 years and farmed in the Richmond area. He was a member of the Wellman Legion and the Allis Chalmers Collector's Club.

Survivors include two sons, Mike and wife Eileen Stumpf of Hills, IA, Francis Stumpf of Iowa City, three grandchildren, Betsy, Paul and Wyatt Stumpf, one great grandson, Kean Curtis, one brother, Pete and wife Donna Stumpf of Morris, IA, two sisters, Elizabeth and husband Nick Bakeris of Bettendorf, IA, and Linda and husband Dale Simon of Riverside, and a sister in law, Joan and husband Ed Shebek of Riverside.

Preceding Charlie in death were his parents and wife Rita Jean on July 8, 1999.
