Charles Nelson “Chick” Corpman, 82, of Brighton, passed from this life on Friday, February 21, 2025, at his home surrounded by his family. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at 11:00 AM at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington. Burial will follow at the Grace Hill Cemetery. The service will be available via Livestream on the Beatty Peterseim Facebook and YouTube pages. The family will greet friends from 9:30 until 10:45 at the funeral home on Wednesday. A memorial fund for the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association has been established.
Charles was born March 4, 1942, in Washington, Iowa, the son of Carl and Geneva (Nelson) Corpman. He graduated from Brighton High School and attended trade school in the autobody collision and repair program in Kansas City. On June 30, 1962, he was united in marriage to Jerolyn Hess in Keota, Iowa. Chick worked in automotive repair and farmed the family farm. He enjoyed traveling. He and Jerolyn visited all the states in the union and all the provinces in Canada. Chick loved boating and being on the water and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan. Spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren was very important to Chick.
Survivors include his wife Jerolyn of Brighton, daughter Debra Corpman (Matt Leeper) of Washington, son Brian Corpman of Brighton; three grandchildren: Marcus (Marissa) Crawford, Matthew (Tiffany) Crawford, Mackenzie Crawford (Colton Covington); seven great-grandchildren: Maison, Maverick, Ady, Maxson, Maliyah, Riverlee and Parker; one brother Clifford Corpman of Ainsworth and one sister Carla Blackwell of Mesa, AZ.
Preceding Chick in death were his parents and one sister Betty Joyce.
