Carolyn (Connie) Adele Watkinson of Riverside passed away on Friday October 7, 2011 surrounded by her loving family.  Carolyn was born in Kalona, IA on January 4, 1933 to Walter E Ledman and Lulu (Saur) Ledman.

Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona is in charge of arrangements.  Visitation will be on Oct 11 from 4PM to 8PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10: 00AM, Wednesday October 12,  at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond, IA by Reverend Marty Goetz.

Carolyn graduated from Kalona High School in 1950 and Mercy School of Nursing (Iowa City) in 1953.

She married to  Sam Watkinson on Sept 2, 1954 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.  She is survived by seven children, 44 grandchildren and 38 great grand children.  Her Children are LuAnn (Gary) Wagamon of Wellman, Sam Watkinson JR of Kalona, Tom (Robin) Watkinson of Kinross, Barb Bender and special friend Kenny Barrett of Sturgis, MI , Mary Watkinson of Riverside,  Sue (Steve) Kron of Kalona and John (Jo Ellen) Watkinson of Camby, IN.

Carolyn was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Holy Trinity Altar and Rosary Society, Kalona High School Alumni, Mercy Hospital Alumni and Richmond Am Vets Auxiliary.

She worked at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City for 40 years, retiring in 1992.  Her biggest joy was her family.  She also loved her flowers, to play Bingo and her trips to the casinos and the Hawkeye football.

She was proceeded,  in death by her husband Sam who passed way on August 26, 2011, her parents, a brother, Wayne in 1997, grandchildren Chris Wagamon, Marie Watkinson and step grandson Eric Grau.

A memorial may be dedicated to Holy Trinity Catholic Church or Hospice of Washington County.
