A Mass of Christian Burial for Blake J. Haman, 16, of Kalona, will be held Friday, April 5, 2019 at 10:30 AM at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Richmond with Father Bill Roush and Deacon Derick Cranston officiating. Burial will follow at Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 4 from 2 – 7 PM at the Parish Life Center in Richmond. A general memorial fund has been established.
Blake was born February 17, 2003 in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Bradley and Heather (Duwa) Haman. He was currently a sophomore at Mid-Prairie High School and worked at Steve's Farm Supply and was recently hired at Orscheln Farm and Home Supply in Washington. He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing, driving, playing cards, golf and shooting pool and playing video games with his friends.
Survivors include his mother Heather of Kalona, sister Auna of Kalona, maternal grandmother Tina and Randy Klein of Atalissa, paternal grandparents Steve and Diana Haman of Kalona, aunt Tammy (Cody) Marek of Washington, four uncles: Matt (Tiffany) Haman of Wellman, Mitch Duwa of Riverside, Dan (Rachel) Klein of Kalona, Chad Klein of Muscatine, cousin Josh (Rochelle) Allen of West Chester and a number of uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Preceding Blake in death was his father Brad and maternal grandfather Kenny "Cap" Duwa.
