Beulah Goldsmith, 86 of Salem, IA, died Monday evening, June 2, 2003 at her home.
Funeral Services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Thursday, June 5, 2003 at the Salem Congregational Church in Salem with the Rev. Harold Dorsey officiating. Burial will be in the Salem south cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Wednesday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family present from 6:30-8:00 P.M. A memorial in the name Beulah Goldsmith has been established to the Salem Congregational Church.
Beulah was born January 19, 1917 near Salem, IA the daughter of Hanmer and Sylvia (Litton) Bailey. She was united in marriage to Edward Watson who preceded her in death in 1950; she later married Oliver Goldsmith on January 6, 1951 at her parent’s home.
She was a member of the Salem Congregational Church and was a Sunday school teacher there for many years. Beulah raised her family and enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband Oliver of Salem; son, Loren Watson and wife Shirley of Burlington, IA; daughter, Martha Watson Pratt and husband Bob of Salem, IA; two brothers, Lawrence Bailey and wife Charlotte of Roland, IA and Gary Bailey of Wilmore, KY; two sisters, Ruth Hesseltine of Winfield, IA and Imogene Dorsey and husband Rev. Harold of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Edward Watson, brother, Merald Bailey and sister Louva Pickard.
