Jeanne Ward, 82 of Washington, died Thursday, March 6, 2008 at Parkview Manor in Wellman following declining health.
A Memorial Service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Lending Hands in Washington with Pastor Linda Foor officiating. Her body has been cremated and will be interred at a later date at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis Minnesota. Memorials in the name of Jeanne Ward may be designated for Lending Hands of Washington.
Jeanne was born August 2, 1924 in New York, NY, the daughter of Lewis and Thelma (Brewer) Sawyer. She was united in marriage to Donald Fredrick Ward on August 26, 1945 in Ohio.
She was employed at a music store in Minneapolis for several years and also provided day care. Jeanne moved to Washington in 2006 and has resided at the Parkview Manor in Wellman for the last year. She enjoyed traveling and camping.
Survivors include sons, Doug Ward and wife Dagne of Maryville, TN, Bob Ward and wife Audrey of Suffolk, VA, John Ward and wife Gail of CA; daughter Lise Horsman and husband Bob of Hopkins, MN; brother Buz Sawyer of Bullhead City, AZ; fifteen grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald, sons Donald Jr. and Greg, daughter Dawn and a brother Robert.
