Betty Kempf

Betty Kempf, age 92,  has died at Highland Ridge Care Center in Williamsburg.  Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at 11:30 AM at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona where visitation will be held from 9:30 AM until the time of the service.  The body will be cremated following the service and burial will be at a later date.


Betty was the daughter of Harry and Ruby Jacob.  She was born February 9, 1923.  She graduated from Central High School in 1941.  She married Russ Kempf on August 22, 1942.

Betty was a devoted wife and mother.  She was an avid and skilled gardener.  She enjoyed quilting and was a member of Embroidery Club, Kountry Quilt Club, and Garden Club.

Betty is survived by her daughters June Kempf and Pat Kempf of West Des Moines and Linda Randall (Dale) of Findlay, OH.  She is also survived by grandchildren and great-grandchildren Brent (Michelle) Randall, Derek, and Kyle and Vicki (Travis) Funneman, Shelby, and Chloe.  Also surviving are sisters-in-law Dorothy Jacob, Dolores Kempf, Martha Justice, Olivia Abshire, Ruth Kempf and brother-in-law Les Kempf.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, her parents, and brothers Bob and Larry.
