Bernard Milo Smith, 73 of Des Moines, formally of Washington, died Saturday, November 24, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.
Graveside Services have been set for 11:00 AM Thursday, November 29, 2007 at the Schrock Cemetery south of Washington with Pastor Dennis Carr officiating. A general memorial has been established in the name of Bernard Smith. Beatty Funeral Home of Washington is assisting with arrangements.
Bernard was born April 8, 1933 in Logan, Iowa the son of Ted and Clara Smith.
He lived in Washington from 1970-1985 and was employed at Crane for 10 years. He moved to Des Moines and was employed at Montgomery Wards.
Survivors include children, Helen Smith of Washington, Roger Smith of Brighton, Frances Williams of Wayland, Peggy Young of Washington and Sue Ann Smith of Brighton; Brother Virgil Smith; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and great-grandson Dylan McKay Martin.
