Barbara Arnold

A graveside service for Barbara J. Arnold, 88, of Carlisle, formerly of Washington, will be held Thursday, July 21, 2016 at 10:00 am at the Fern Cliff Cemetery in rural Wayland, with Pastor Scott Johnson officiating.   Beatty Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.  Barbara Arnold died Thursday, July 14 at the Carlisle Center of Wellness and Rehabilitation.

Barbara J. (Loutzenhiser) Arnold was born September 30, 1927 in Wichita, KS., the daughter of Forest and Kathryn (Mull) Loutzenhiser.  She was united in marriage to Melvin R. Arnold on August 23, 1945 in Wichita.  They moved to Des Moines, where they lived for many years, before coming to Washington to the Golden Crest Apartments.

Survivors include a daughter, Kathy Rail of Lake Zurich, IL., three sons: Dan (Laura) Arnold of Allen, TX., Dave (Mary) Arnold of Ankeny, IA., Stephen Arnold of Des Moines, IA., 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and one sister, Joann Reynolds of Washington, IA.,

Preceding Barbara in death were her parents, her husband Melvin in 2014 and a brother-in-law, Paul Reynolds.
