Artie Frances Darby, 63 of Washington, died Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral Services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the First Christian Church with Pastor Rich Boyd officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be two hours prior to the Funeral at the First Christian Church. Beatty Funeral Home of Washington is assisting with the arrangements. Memorials in the name of Artie F. Darby may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Artie was born June 16, 1939 in Huntington, West Virginia the daughter of Leonard and Stella (Harless) Jordan. She was united in marriage to Harold Darby October 25, 1955 in Linwood California.
She was a member of the First Christian Church of Washington and the Woman’s Bowling Association. Artie and her husband retired and moved to Washington in 1996 where she worked at the Hawkeye Motel. She enjoyed bowling, gardening, doll and plate collecting.
Survivors include her husband, Harold of Washington, IA three sons, Harold Dean Darby of Pico Rivera, CA, Michael Darby and wife Carrie of Corona, CA and Ronald D. Darby of Washington, IA; daughter Lola Diana Blankenship and husband Bob of Washington, IA; two brothers, Denver Jordan of Douglasville, GA and Paul Jordan of Oxford, GA; eight grandchildren, Gary, Mike, Dean, Mark, Jonathon, Kristy, Cassie and Tyler.
She was preceded in death by her Parents, sister Juanita, three brothers, Bobby, John and Leonard.
