Archie Melvin Christner, 90, of the Washington formally of the White Oak Community west of Trenton, died Friday, November 21, 2003 at the Washington Care Center.
Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, November 26, 2003 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Rev. Roy Nelson of the Trenton Missionary Church officiating. Burial will be in the White Oak Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Tuesday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Memorials may be directed to the White Oak Cemetery.
Archie was born March 4, 1913 in Henry Co. Iowa the son of Nickalos and Jesse (Hill) Christner. On March 31, 1934 he was united in marriage to Marie V. Hendricks in Ottumwa.
He farmed throughout most of his life and also worked at General Electric in Burlington and the Feed store in Trenton. He enjoyed hunting, square dancing with his wife and camping.
Survivors include: son LaVerne Christner and wife Elma of Ocean Park, WA; three daughters, Juanita Graber and husband Dwight of Washington, Linda Johnson and husband Don of Washougal, WA and Sharon Sanaghan and husband Steve of Lockridge, IA; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Dale Christner, sister Alta Krabill and son Gerald.
