Alma Metz, age 80, was born September 1, 1930, in Washington.  She was the daughter of Alva and Anna (Florang) Heck.  Alma graduated from Riverside High School.  She was married to Urban Metz on April 7, 1951 at St. Mary's Church in Riverside.

Alma was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Farm Bureau and the North Garden Club.  She and Urban farmed until retiring to Riverside.

Alma was most happy cooking for people, gardening and spending time with her family.

A memorial fund for Iowa City Hospice or the American Diabetes Association.

Two sons; Larry Metz and Duane and wife Deb Metz all from Riverside survive Alma.  Also surviving are six grandchildren; Kevin, Daniel, Kelly, Lisa, Tami and Bradley, and three great grandchildren

Preceding Alma in death were her parents, her husband, Urban (Feb. 27, 2008).
