Allen M. Yoder was born in Little River, Rice County Kansas, the son of Levi M. adn Tillie (Yoder) Yoder. He attended rural schools in Kansas. On January 19, 1947 Allen and Genevieve L. Swartzendruber were united in marriage in McPherson, KS. The couple later moved to Iowa where Allen farmed. He was a member of the Sharon Center United Methodist Church where he was always active in the choir. He also served on the English Valley Creamery board. He was an avid craftsman and created numerous items for the family members. Brooms, marble rollers. Nothing went to waste as he always found a way to use everything. His family was of the upmost importance in his life. Surviving Allen are his wife of 61 years, Genevieve of Wellman, three children; Robert and wife Pat Yoder of Lone Tree, Richard and wife Cyndee Yoder of Marion and Barbara and husband Richard Fauenholz of Tipton. Ten grandchildren; Lane Yoder and Tiffany, Leicha Scranton and Matt, Lacey Viers and Gordon, Sharon Scott and Jeff, Joshua Yoder and Wendy, Amanda Brown and Josh, Anna Whitlatch and Brian, Ali Jo Frauenholz, Jillian Diesburg-Yoder and Austin Diesburg,and sixteen great grandchildren. Allen was preceded in death by his parents, four sisters, Edith Cline, Cline, Maude Coryell, Maggie Cooley and Lula Schuelke and two brothers, Cline Yoder and Rolland Yoder. A memorial fund in Allen's memory has been established for the choir and organ fund at the Sharon Center United Methodist Church or Iowa City Hospice.
