Agnes King

January 1, 1913 — April 4, 2005

Agnes Elizabeth Mueller King, 92 of Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, April 4, 2005 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 A.M. Friday, April 8, 2005 at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. Nick Adam officiating. Burial will be in the St. Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with the family present from 6-8:00 P.M. A rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Thursday evening at the Funeral Home. Memorials in the name of Agnes may be designated to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church.

Agnes was born January 1, 1913 in Houghton, IA the daughter of Henry and Rose (Mehmert) Lampe. She was united in marriage to Herbert Mueller September 12, 1933 he preceded her in death March 30, 1986. She later married Illif King, who also preceded her in death.

Agnes was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Alter and Rosary Society. She was a homemaker and also worked in retail. Agnes and Herbert lived in Florida for many years and traveled in a motor home until returning to Mt. Pleasant in the mid 80’s. She enjoyed crocheting.

Survivors include five children, Marvin Mueller and wife Mary Jane of Tulsa, OK, Marilyn Calhoun and husband Victor of Mt. Pleasant, Karen Garrison and husband Don of Cedar Falls, IA, Gary Mueller of Cedar Rapids, IA and Mary Hatala and husband Dan of Waverly, IA; two brothers, Albert Lampe and wife Ollie of Houghton, IA and Adrian Lampe and wife Barb of Houghton, IA; two sisters, Mildred Bergthold of West Point, IA and Bernice Nichting of Houghton, IA; sixteen grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands and five brothers, Raymond, Clarence, Leonard, Ernie and Adolph.
