Agatha Marie Woodsmall, 89 of Mount Pleasant, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Graveside services have been set for 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, September 14, 2004 at the Forest Home Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant with Pastor Harold Dorsey officiating. Visitation will begin at Noon Monday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Agatha Woodsmall has been established at the Funeral Home.
Agatha was born November 25, 1914 in Patterson, Iowa the daughter of Thomas and Esther Irene (Piatt) Penn. She was united in marriage to Dale Raymond Woodsmall on June 23, 1937 in Kahoka, Missouri.
She worked as a nurse’s aid for sixty years at various nursing homes and care centers. Agatha and her husband live in Mt. Pleasant, Fairfield, Burlington, Montezuma, Sigourney and Oskaloosa and several other communities due to his construction job. She enjoyed working with older people and enjoyed her family. She has lived with her daughter Shirley the last few years here in Mt. Pleasant.
Survivors include two daughters, Shirley Ulin of Mt. Pleasant and Doris Dugger of What Cheer; brother Dale C. Penn of Mt. Pleasant; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband in 1985; daughter Bonnie Louise; sister Edna Penn, two brothers, Harold and Don Penn; grandchildren Rhoda Dugger and Rick Dugger.
