A funeral service for Ada V. Stutzman, 91, of Kalona, will be held Monday, September 12, 2016 at 10:00 am Fairview Mennonite Church in rural Kalona, with Pastors Conrad Hertzler, Perry Miller and Chaplain John King officiating. Burial will follow at the North Gingerich Cemetery. Visitation will be held Sunday, September 11 from 2-6 pm at the Peterseim Funeral Home in Kalona. A memorial fund has been established for Fairview Church and the Pleasantview Home. Ada Stutzman died Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Pleasantview Home in Kalona where Ada has lived since 2003.
Ada Verneda Stutzman was born May 5, 1925 in rural Johnson County, the daughter of Ervin J. and Lydia (Bontrager) Stutzman. She attended East Lincoln school and was a member of the Fairview Church. Ada worked as a housekeeper and as a nanny for newborn babies for many years. She enjoyed embroidery and flower gardening.
Survivors include her siblings Leroy (Norma) Stutzman of Washington, IA., Ervin Stutzman, Jr. of Texas, Stanley (Shirley) Stutzman of Frytown, IA., Barbara Bender of Kalona, IA., Alta Widmer of Iowa City, IA., and Ann Raber of Sarasota, FL., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Preceding Ada in death were her parents, two sisters: Mary Bontrager and an infant sister, and four brothers: Henry, John, Omar and Levi Stutzman.
