Ada M Hahn of Washington died Wednesday morning, January 14, 2009 at The United Presbyterian Home in Washington.

Funeral Services have been set for 2:00 P.M. Saturday, January 17, 2009 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Pastor Linda Foor officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 4:00 to 7:00 in the evening. A memorial in the name of Ada Hahn has been established to Up With Kids Day Care Center or the Christian Church- Disciples of Christ.

Ada M. Hahn was born September 4, 1919 in Washington, Iowa the daughter of Everette Glen and Lela (Smith) Beenblossom. She was united in marriage to Ivan Hahn on August 6, 1940 in Perryville, MO.

Ada graduated from Washington High School and taught in rural schools. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a cook at the Washington Jr. High, and was a waitress at The Hub and later Winga’s Café. Ada was a member of the Christian Church – Disciples of Christ and the Pythian Sisters of West Chester. She enjoyed playing cards, going to dances, listening to music and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include her children; son Ed Hahn and wife Sharon of Keota and daughter Peg Shepherd of Washington; six grandchildren Mark Hahn, Lonnie Hahn and wife Tabitha, Paula Celania and husband Joe, Jason Shepherd, Megan Coakley and husband Aaron, and Brian Shepherd and six great-grandchildren, Kendahl, Kirsten, Riley, Andrew “A.J.”, Joseph and Cayten and one sister, Velma Cortum of Washington.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Ivan on February 17, 2004.
