Wilma Kauffman

April 3, 1912 — January 8, 2004

Wilma E. Kauffman, 91 of Mt. Pleasant, formally of Wayland died Thursday, January 08, 2004 at Park Place in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services have been set for 10:30 A.M. Saturday, January 10, 2004 at Wayland Mennonite Church with Gerry Klopfenstein and Pam Unruh officiating. Burial will be in the North Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Friday at the Beatty Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 P.M. Memorials in the name of Wilma E. Kauffman may be designated to North Hill Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant Library large print books or the Wayland Mennonite Church.
Wilma E. Kauffman was born in Noble, Iowa on April 3, 1912, the daughter of William and Anna (Eicher) Boshart. She was married to Max L. Kauffman on February 7, 1931 in Kahoka, MO.
Wilma worked in the Wayland area most of her life, first on the family farm and later at the Wayland Sale Barn. She also worked at the Zehr tax offices for twenty years.
She attended the Eicher Mennonite Church as a child. She was baptized and confirmed in the Wayland Mennonite Church where she was active through all but the latter years of her life. She especially enjoyed the quilting circles and sharing that particular heritage with others. Wilma was a Past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and past president of Chapter J of TTT. She blessed her family and friends with a gracious love and an ever-optimistic sense of humor that will be sorely missed by all she knew.

Survivors include daughter, Dianne (James) Roth, Mt. Pleasant, IA, as well as twin sons William (Barbara), Manitowish Waters, WI, and Robert (Pam), Grays Lake, IL; seven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren
Wilma was preceded in death by her husband on December 8, 1992 as well as two brothers, Vernon and Vere; one sister, Ina Peterson; and two half sisters, Harriet Salzman and Irene Schrock.
