Hubert C. Sines, 77 of Washington, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at the Washington County Hospital following a short illness.
A Celebration of his life will be 10:30 AM Friday, February 22, 2008 at the Beatty Funeral Home in Washington with Dr. Dan McClure officiating. Burial will be in the Elm Grove Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon Thursday at the Funeral Home with family receiving friends from 6-8:00 PM. A Masonic Service will be at 7:00 PM Thursday evening. A general memorial in the name of Hubert C. Sines has been established at the funeral home.
Hubert was born March 25, 1930 in Pershing, IA the son of Allen and Myrtle (Stewart) Sines. He graduated from Numa High School and was united in marriage to Shirley Rupe on November 21, 1951 in Bloomfield, IA.
He was an Insurance Agent for 38 years, Certified Life Underwriter for 38 years and owned and operated Sines Insurance Agency. He was a member of the Methodist Church, Kiwanis AMs, Shiners and the Masonic Lodge. Hubert was an avid coal mining collector.
Survivors include his wife Shirley of Washington, sons Lynn Sines and wife Robin of Milwaukee, WI and Brian Sines and wife Stacey of Washington; brother Curt Sines and wife Linda of Ottumwa and two grandchildren Justin and Nikki.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Colleen Bumbarner and brother Richard Sines.
